Bird Poster Contest

DIVISIONS

Division I:      Kindergarten – 1st and 2nd Grade.
Divisions II:   Grades 3,4, & 5
Division III:    Grades 6,7, & 8
Division IV:     Grades 9, 10, 11 & 12
Division V:      Special needs
Division VI:     Senior Citizen
RULES:  Draw bird and the appropriate habitat where you would see the bird:  sitting on a branch, a tree or bush, a fence, sitting on a nest or flying.
1. Poster 8 1/2 x 11 inches white paper or card stock.
2.       The design and medium should be done with colored pencils, crayons, watercolors, markers or chalk.
3. Label Bird with scientific name and host or nectar plant.  It MUST be at the bottom of the page.
4.  Entry must be the work of the contestant.
5.  Divisions  IV and VI  contestants MUST write a paragraph about the bird.
6.      On the BACK of your entry (lower right corner), tape a separate tag with the following information: name, street, town, grade, division number, school, parent’s name, Garden Club and District.

State Awards
Divisions I, II, III & IV:
1st – $10.00, 2nd-$7.00, 3rd-$5.00 
 Division V & VI: Certificates only 
Deadline:    Only 1st place District winning Posters in each division must be mailed immediately after the District judging no later then March 5, to the state Bird Chairman.
